Killbear to Byng Inlet

Well it was time to leave Killbear Marina, we had a great time, but wanted to be on our way.  We had discussed the evening before with the folks from Always Home that we would travel this next leg together.  We would follow Always Home across the open part of Georgian Bay to make better time.  We started out at 6:00 am. which is early for us, but it was a beautiful morning.  We were a little less than an hour into our journey that day and realized the Lady J was not going to do well in open water, too wind still and too much rolling. So we radioed Always Home and let them know we were turning into the islands to get into some protected waters.  Once we were there the cruising was much easier and less stressful.  Besides the scenery was gorgeous as always.  It still amazes me how much ROCK there is through all of this.  We even saw a couple of sail boats in some more open waterways.

Early morning cruising

Our friends from Always Home leading the way.

Another Georgian Bay home

Campers on the Bay, not sure how you pitch a tent on rock.

And more beautiful rocks

Okay I am thinking this tall tree is not real, almost looks like a telephone pole.

Love those clouds

Beautiful sail boats

Such colorful spinnakers

A lighthouse along the bay.

Luckily we didn't have to navigate through these, but they were a stones throw from the boat.

Navigating through these were a challenge, but Mike did an amazing job.

As beautiful as these rock formations were we are ready for some open water.

After all these homes we saw this one that just didn't quite fit in with the others, it was beautiful none the less.

Still not sure if these rock sculptures mean anything or not.

More rock sculptures

After about 8 hours of cruising we arrived at Wrights Marina located up the Byng Inlet.  We enjoyed docktails that evening with the crew from Aunt Aggie, Always Home and a couple of new folks we met that were just starting their Loop the next day.  It had been a long day so Mike and I enjoyed a quiet dinner that night on the boat and went to bed early.  I awoke the next morning to a brilliant sunrise, the colors were so vivid it literally took my breath away.  The pictures I took really don’t do it justice.

Just a beautiful morning.
