Brewerton-Baldwinsville-Clyde

As said before we stayed in Brewerton one more day since trying to get to Baldwinsville on a weekend is pretty much difficult.  So we hung out there and avoided traveling in some rain well at least for part of the day.  We left Brewerton about noon on Sunday and headed over to Baldwinsville where once again we were going to meet up with our friends Jeff and Sandy.  On the trip from Brewerton to Baldwinsville we encountered a good deal of rain.  Nothing deal breaking, but it was a steady rain for most of the trip.  In fact at one point we had 4 different leaks in our bimini.  Once right over the Captains head.  We arrive in Baldwinsville around 3:00 p.m. where our friend Jeff kindly met us at the dock.  Always good to see a friendly face ready to take a line.  We ended up having a wonderful dinner at Lock 24 restaurant and helped them celebrate their 40th anniversary.  It was a great evening.

We left Baldwinsville early this morning since we had already spent a couple days there last week we decided to move on to Clyde.  The cruising today was wonderful.  Since we left early this morning we were able to beat the heat of the day and arrive in Clyde around 2:30. All the sites along the canal are so diverse.  You may see million dollar homes in one place, farmland in another and then some little run down shack in another.  There is hardly a dull moment on the canal.  Between the site, the dozens of bridges and of course those wonderful locks.  Not sure how many we have been through so far, but I must say we are getting to be old pros at it.  We have found a rhythm between the Captain and I that seems to work really well and there is no more screaming and snarling of teeth, much to the dismay of on lookers.

Beautiful barns and farmland

As I said earlier we arrived in Clyde around 2:30 p.m.  Just as we were docking another boat pulls up and docks right in front of us.  It's an older couple and seeing that I have the lines under control Mike goes to offer some assistance.  Again as stated before it is ALWAYS good to see a friendly face to throw your line to.  After they were docked the man came out and started talking to Mike.  Friendly guy but boy he was a talker (even for Mike).  Now Clyde, NY is a  little town that at one time was a booming canal town, but unfortunately now is just trying to stay alive.  It has a beautiful park and all the old architecture is wonderful.  We are docked on the south side of the Canal opposite of the town.
We will be leaving in the morning for the next town of Lyons, NY.
