The Crew

The Captain - Mike

I always wanted to live aboard and cruise someday.  I have built small sailboats as a youth, and eventually moving up to a Hunter 26.  I loved the big boat feel, but it was too small to live aboard.  The best advice we ever got was "Don't buy the biggest boat you can afford, buy the smallest you can live on." Wanting the most boat for the buck, we started looking at trawlers.   Our budget dictated a fixer-upper.  I'm a retired aircraft mechanic, and Jana and I have re-habbed our 1889 home, so I felt we had the skills.  We're learning as we go, but the goal is in sight.
The First Mate - Jana
I am the Chief Cook and Bottle Washer, CFO, Nurse Maid, Stripper (of varnish), Seamstress, Photographer, Blogger.  First experience on a boat was on a Hunter 26 (sailboat) several years ago.  My bouts with a bit of claustrophobia led us to a bit bigger vessel and one that is more of a live aboard. After spending more than 20 years as a sales rep for a leading office supply dealer I was ready to quit the rat race, pare down our belongings and live a simpler life.  So soon my belongings will all fit on our 36 foot boat.
